Not Perfect - FAR From It!

I hope this blog never gives the impression that I've got it all together. I SO don't. Anyone who has ever met me in real life (or, you know, seen my kitchen floor) knows all about that. Sometimes I think blogs paint such a rosy picture of someone's life (which, for the sake of fostering gratitude, I'm all for!), but sometimes it makes other people feel intimidated, or not good enough, or whatever.

I make mistakes all the time. We go over the budget, ALL the time. I'm definitely not Super Mom! Every day, my to-do list is about twice as long as what I actually accomplish. Some days, I don't even find the time to make a to-do list.

I watch too much TV, and I eat too much junk food, and I spend money on stuff I don't need (fancy coffee drinks much?). I haven't made my bed in months.

BUT. I'm trying. Always, always trying. I want, very much, to be a good mom. I want to live within our means and I want to always have gratitude for my many, many blessings. I never want to think I deserve more than I've earned. And this blog, I hope, is about that struggle.

So thanks, for keeping me honest.

I seriously think we were separated at birth!! ;-P I'm right there with ya gal! I love you for your down to earth honesty and I always look forward to your next post!! I rejoice in the fact that there is someone in South Dakota who gets my sense of humor and is as imperfect as I am!! I think being imperfect is a lot more fun than being perfection. And I think you are a great mom!! ;-)

And I still love McDonald's. I don't care what anybody says... lol...

We all have "failures" every.single.day... so they aren't as great to share as the things we do right. At least that's my take on it... it's more like, "Holy Cow, I hit a home run", so we feel compelled to share out of our own astonishment. I've figured out how to diet on McDonalds.. how pathetic is that? If I order a grilled chicken sandwich (no bun, no mayo)and a parfait, I can clock in under 12 grams of fat and 400 calories.

Or I could just pack something, but that'd be too much work!

Wow... I could have written this post. Really. The TV, the snacks. UGH.

Tho, moving to my MIL's house until our new one gets done, has taken my tv watching to nil. She has the basic of all basic cables, and the TV we can watch in the basement family room you can't see the picture very well, so we've opted for movies in the living room. NO TV, just movies. I'm going *crazy*!!! :)

I to love your honesty! NO ONE is perfect.
