Oh, We're Eating Too

So, occasionally we take a break from planning for the new baby and actually eat a meal. I've mentioned before that I'm trying to at least hover around the Weight Watchers Core program.

Here is what we had recently:

Steak and Potatoes in the Crockpot

1 lb. steak, cubed and browned w/salt and pepper (4.00ish?)
5 potatoes, washed and diced (.91)
1 c baby carrots (.53)
1 1/2 c. GF beef broth (?)
onion (?)

Layer potatoes, then carrots, then meat, then onion, and pour broth over all.

I cooked on low for about 8 hours. It was done awhile before that, though.

Enjoy!

Total cost: Around $6.00
Verdict: Yum. (Actually SuperDad said it could have been spicier, but I've been pretty sensitive to spices lately, so... Yeah.)

How long do you leave it in the crockpot, and at what temperature (low/high)?
Thanks!

Oh my. Well, THAT would be good info to include! Duh! :)

Updated! Thanks for the heads-up.

Maybe you've already thought about this, but to help with your debt payment, why not put some ads up on your site? I'm not sure how much traffic you get, but you could start with some Google Ads in your sidebars and also some Amazon links i.e. for some of the books you have recommended. If you found the time before baby comes you could change the format of your site to have 3 columns instead of two with a 3rd skinny one next to your index info and then place a BlogHer ad in there. Those three sources of income may be an extra $20-$100 bucks a month for you. You could even introduce the ads by stating that they will go towards paying off your debts. People won't mind. Just some ideas. Hope it helps!

This sounds a lot like something we make...

I use one Turkey Kielbasa, cut into 1 inch pieces, new potatoes (as many as I think we will eat) cut in half or quarters depending on size, a whole bunch of button mushrooms, organic baby carrots- whole, 1-32 oz container of Pacific Natural Foods Organic Chicken broth, 2 Tablespoons quick cooking Tapioca, some black pepper and kosher salt, chopped garlic if I have it on hand. I let it cook in the crockpot most of the day on low heat or about 4 hours on high. Yummy.

Feel free to enter the drawing again... you can enter daily if you want to (increases your chances of my random number generator selecting one of your comments.)

Cheers!
Jamie

CeliacChick - I tried the Amazon ads for a little while, but never made any $, so gave it up. :)
