Pregnancy Update

It's been brought to my attention that it has come to the point in my pregnancy where if I'm quiet too long, people may assume I'm off having a baby. Not so much, unfortunately. :)

I'm 36 1/2 weeks along right now. The pregnancy is going very well, and everything looks fine for a (big) healthy baby to arrive sometime in October.

However, I've been battling a very seriously painful headache for a few *weeks* now. In the last 5 days, I've experienced some of the most excruciating pain of my entire life. I have a knot at the base of my skull that refuses to go away, and is causing pain across my entire head and all the way down my back. I've tried everything. Everything. Everything. So, I'm going to get really selfish right here and ask that, if it's your thing, you could send up some prayers on my behalf? Or good vibes or whatever it is you might have, I'll take it!

Hope all is well with you!

P.S. - My blood pressure is fine, I have no swelling, no signs of pre-eclampsia at all. Other than being out of whack from the weight of the baby, the doctor doesn't think this headache is pregnancy-related. :)

Please make sure you get your blood pressure checked. It can cause bad headaches, especially during pregnancy. Feel better!

I'm sure you've heard every suggestion for kicking this thing, but have you tried Upper Cervical Chiropractic? I don't mean a regular chiropractor, I mean an Upper Cervical specialist. I think that Dr. Aaron Skonhovd in Sioux Falls is UC, so I'd seriously check him out. I've seen UC do wonders.

Just my two cents, and I will pray for you. I'm sorry you're miserable!

I had bad headaches during pregnancy (and before...and after). It is mostly hormonal for me, and sounds like it for you too. :(

Take care!

I hereby gather all the good vibes I can find and am sending them your way! Expect them later on today - remember I'm in the Eastern time zone, so they might arrive during dinner. (Can't be helped)

Seriously, I really hope you are able to kick that headache, they can be so draining. Do take care!

Sending good vibes and prayers your way. I think a good preganncy massage is needed... can't hurt at least!!

I agree with the massage idea. Preferably someone who knows about trigger points. I get severe muscle pain when I have eaten something that I am sensitive/allergic to. If you have been eating a lot of carbs and/or wheat lately, that could be the problem. Drinking lots of water after the massage helps too. I deal with muscle pain all the time and it is not fun. I feel for you, especially since you are pregnant. Hope you feel better soon! I love your blog and your sweet family!

Aww, now, what kind of pain in the butt friends would assume you're in labor and start bugging you about it? :)

Prayers, check. I'm so sorry for you because headaches (migraines) are kind of my thing the last couple years and I would do anything to be free of them.

(On a side note, did you know that you and Amalah are almost exactly the same amount of pregnant?)

Well, I'm hoping your headache is just stress related or something. Lack of sleep, dehydration, stress, etc can all contribute to an annoying headache that won't go away. I certainly know the worries of having headaches that won't go away.

And, by the way, when you are at this stage of your pregnancy, you need to check in like every other day. :) People really do start to wonder, it doesn't take long.

Good luck, I'll send you lots of "feel good" vibes.
