As I continue reading the Little House series, I'm constantly amazed at the number of songs Pa and Ma know. No radio. No sheet music. No hymnal of which I'm aware. They haven't even been to a physical church building in the series yet. Not that all the songs are hymns. But I'm amazed at what they know by memory.
We actually own this book, so we can know all of the songs they know. Which is nice. Because I'm afraid if I was stuck out on the prairie with only a fiddle, my kids would be subjected to what I know, which is "Jesus Loves Me" and some very, VERY bad interpretations of Young MC songs.

I love the Little House series. I haven't read it in a while. But I need to.
