Budgeting

Going on a strict and serious budget has been like getting a raise. There is now enough money for the stuff that we need to buy, and enough money for paying down debt. Well, if we don't blow it. And when we do blow it, at least I know how and why and can learn from it.

I can't thank my friend Amy enough (well I could start by thanking her once - Thank you!) for explaining to me how she takes the two week pay period and splits it, taking out only enough cash for one week at a time. Whew! This has totally saved us from spending all of our money the first week and then being broke the second. A one-week period is easier to plan for, easier to wait for, and easier to get a handle on. It's been great.
