I knew this had to happen, but it's disappointing anyway. We spent our vacuum money on food. And next pay period we maybe have to buy E a Halloween costume. So, it looks like we'll be vacuum-free for at least another month.
It's really easy to sit down and make the budget and decide that x is enough for the pay period. It's a lot harder when you get to thinking how yummy some fancy coffee drink would taste right now and it was a rough day, couldn't we just pick up some dinner, and really, this is America! Can't I just buy something nice once in awhile??? ;)
But we have to keep our eyes on the goal. And that goal is for more of our money to belong to us again. Or for the first time. So we'll just keep plugging away.
I did do some shopping this weekend too. I hit the Salvation Army, and I walked right by the brand-new $8.00 bread machine and $3.00 juicer, but I did bring home a book and a flannel pillow case for .99. I was actually shopping for a Halloween costume for myself, but as usual came home with something else entirely.

! I'm looking for a brand-new bread machine for $8. Hope I can find one.
As far as Halloween costumes go, this is where frugalites can really go to town. Do you or your husband have interesting clothes he could use for a costume? I once wore a really bizarre formal dress that was my mother's. I went as the 1980s. :)
Last year, I found some yellow felt and cut it into a 1-foot diameter circle. I stuck it on a plain white T-shirt. Then, I picked up a devil's horn headband for $3. I was a deviled egg! Get it?
Kacie - Hee! That costume sounds adorable!
