The Cable Question

Our cable bill is $91, which includes:
$15 for television (channels 2-22)
$45 for high-speed Internet service
$31 for phone service

TV
If we actually signed up for bundled services, we could pay $4 more a month and receive the full cable package, but we haven't had the full cable package in about 7 years? And honestly, whenever I'm around full TV service I'm so overwhelmed and stressed by what I might be missing that I usually just give up. Except for that one time I caught the afternoon shows on HGTV that were all about decorating for nothing or $100 or whatever. That was awesome. And also that time I was in the hospital having a baby and there was a Miami Ink marathon on and I was all, "Yeah, whatever, just don't stand in front of the TV." So.

Internet
SuperDad is not willing to switch to slow Internet service. Like, if we did, we might want to hide the axes because it makes him crizazay.

Phone
We just recently switched our phone service over to our cable company. I'd love to find anything cheaper, and a cheaper cell plan would be awesome, but I haven't been able to do it. Also, the new phone plan includes call waiting, which I've never had. So I'll be on the phone with someone and it makes that weird noise and I'm all, "What the?! What WAS that? What just happened!?" It's so scary. And then I don't know how to make it stop. Also, I might be 80.

Also, I must mention that I'm a Netflix fool. I love it. Love, love, love it. So, that's $20 a month. I could certainly cut that, but it honestly provides me like $1,000 a month in joy. So, bargain, right? Ha. If anything, I'd cut TV and just have Netflix because I would only watch what I want to watch when I want to watch it. Awesome.

Laughed out loud at the comment on being overwhelmed by cable tv choice. That is so me. We've got DVR and I go nuts with the series recordings. It's sad and makes me hate myself. Agree a thousand percent on the importance of high speed internet. But. BUT. Oh Girl-who-makes-me-jealous-of-her-awesome-organized-grocery budget. I don't have a cell phone. :) I have Miami Ink in case of emergency!

Totally makes sense. Dial-up interent is not worth the cost of the resulting visits to the therapist.

ooooohhh I get it now. You were saying you'd love a cheaper cell plan to replace phone service altogether. gotcha. Me too.

alriiiiight so you're still more frugal (and way more gluten free) than me.

hee

(also, I hate call waiting. I don't even know why we have it because I get all flustered and feel rude if I click over.)
